Privacy Policy – PDFHelper
This policy describes information handled by the Android PDFHelper app. No account or registration is required.
Documents, photos and permissions
PDF viewing, editing, conversion and text processing run on your device. The app does not send your PDF or photo files to a document-processing server. When you choose Share or open a file in another app, that app receives the file you selected and handles it under its own policies.
Camera permission lets you scan documents. The system photo picker lets you choose images. Optional storage access lets the Files tab find PDFs on your device; without broad access, you can still use app-owned files and individually selected documents. On older Android versions, storage permission may also be needed to save public PDFs. Notification permission is used for local operation notifications. You can change permissions in Android Settings.
App-private documents, preferences, recent-file references and starred-file references remain on the device until removed or app data is cleared. Exported PDFs saved outside the app can remain after uninstalling. Copies shared with other apps are controlled by those apps. Scan images created for an editing session use temporary storage and are cleaned when the session is discarded or completed; Android can also clear temporary storage. Deleting the app or clearing its data removes its private files, but does not remove public exports or files held by other apps.
Advertising and your choices
PDFHelper uses Google AdMob. Google's advertising SDK can collect IP addresses (which can indicate approximate location), advertising and app identifiers, app/ad interactions, and diagnostic information. Google uses this information to provide and measure advertising and prevent fraud. Details appear in Google's Mobile Ads data disclosure and Google's privacy policy.
Google's consent service presents applicable advertising choices. When available, open Settings → Ad privacy choices in PDFHelper to review or change them. Android also provides advertising-ID controls. Your choices can affect personalization and which ads are shown; declining personalized advertising does not necessarily remove all advertising or all SDK data collection.
Crash reporting
Release builds enable Firebase Crashlytics to help diagnose failures. Reports can contain error messages and stack traces, app and device details, crash timestamps, and installation/session identifiers. Error messages may include contextual information such as a local file path. Crash reporting does not intentionally attach your documents or photos. PDFHelper does not integrate Firebase Analytics for screen-view or app-open analytics.
Google describes Crashlytics data and retention in its Firebase privacy documentation. It retains crash traces and associated identifiers for 90 days before starting removal from live and backup systems. Data may be processed in countries where Google operates. Advertising and crash-reporting data are transmitted using encryption in transit; their retention is governed by the relevant Google service policies. Advertising choices do not disable crash reporting.
Privacy requests and children
For questions about access, correction or deletion of information, contact us below. We do not keep server copies of your documents and cannot recover deleted local files. Uninstalling does not itself delete diagnostic or advertising data already sent to Google. Requests concerning that data are handled according to the applicable service capabilities and policies.
PDFHelper does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can address it.
